While the developers of the new Call of Duty part have so far only released the logo and the name, there are some leaks that want to reveal more about the upcoming Modern Warfare 2. There are already alleged details about the cards, a new mode and other functions. Meanwhile, Activision is trying feverishly to keep the leaks in check.
At the end of April, Infinity Ward developers officially revealed the name and logo of the upcoming Call of Duty part. This year the title will again be called Modern Warfare 2 and, according to insiders, could be presented as early as June. Further details about the upcoming game are not yet known. But this is where leakers come into play, who, to the chagrin of publisher Activision, already want to know some information about the shooter.
Leaks are popping up on social media
While Activision is desperately trying to contain the alleged leaks, new details are emerging every day. So there is said to be a new mode called “DMZ” in Modern Warfare 2. It is said to be an extraction mode similar to the game Escape from Tarkov. DMZ is said to be the third game mode after the single player campaign and multiplayer. Traditionally, the third mode in the Call of Duty games was either a zombie or spec ops mode.
The well-known Call of Duty leaker TheMW2Ghost recently published a self-made version of the alleged DMZ map. He wanted to avoid being pursued by Activision. Another user had published a supposed clip that was supposed to show the new “weapons inspection” function in the game. However, the video was removed immediately after its release.
Meanwhile, well-known leaker and insider Tom Henderson wants to know that a number of popular cards from the original Modern Warfare 2 are making a return in the new game. These are said to be the maps Highrise, Quarry, Terminal and Afghan. These maps should also be playable in the successor to CoD: Warzone. The supposed “Warzone 2” is also in the works at Infinity Ward and should be released later this year.
