A couple of weeks after the release of the first iOS 15.5 beta, Apple is launching the second developer version. In addition, there are beta 2 versions of iPadOS 15.5, tvOS 15.5, and watchOS 8.6. See below for details.
Today’s build of iOS 15.5 beta 2 is 19F5057e. Unlike iOS 15.4, which introduced several features, this version appears to be focused on wallet updates.
Here are the main features of iOS 15.5 beta 2 so far:
New “Request” and “Submit” buttons for the Apple Cash in Wallet app. The physical Apple Card is now called “Titanium Card” in wallet settings. Apple Pay has been renamed to the Apple Cash Messages app. Rename iTunes Pass to “Apple Account Card” in the Wallet app.
According to the analysis, iTunes Pass will become a new card called “Apple Account”. This card will appear in the Wallet app in the same way as Apple Card and Apple Cash. Thus, instead of showing a QR code when making purchases in the Apple Store, the user will be able to make a purchase using Apple Pay.
Apart from these changes in iOS 15.5 beta 2, there is also a tweak for the HomePod 15.5 software version with new Wi-Fi signal bars in the Home app.
For iPadOS users, Apple says that Universal Control in version 15.5 requires all devices to be updated to the latest beta versions.
