Apple will update the front camera in the iPhone 14, analyst said Ming-Chi Kuo.
According to him, the changes will affect all new models. The company will add autofocus and reduce the aperture to f/1.9. On the iPhone 13, the front camera has an f/2.2 aperture.
Together, these technologies will improve the quality of selfies and portraits, as well as videos during FaceTime calls.
The front camera of the four new iPhone 14 models in the second half of 2022 will likely be upgraded to AF (autofocus) and an aperture of around f/1.9, compared to FF (fixed focus) and f/2.2 on the iPhone 13.
Autofocus support and a low f-number will achieve better sharpening effect in selfie/portrait mode. In addition, autofocus can improve the quality in FaceTime/video calls/streaming.
