The WWDC 2022 conference will take place on June 6. At it, Apple will traditionally present updated versions of its own operating systems. There are already a lot of rumors, insiders and leaks on the network. Let’s collect everything that is known about the next generation of Apple operating systems.

iOS 16

  1. Updated status bar. This year, the company will release the iPhone 14 lineup, where it will abandon the “bangs” for the first time since 2017. Instead, we get a more miniature cutout for the front camera. As a result, the usable area will increase, and there will be more free space in the status bar area. Apple plans to use it. Perhaps the company will rethink the location of icons and indicators.
  2. Health tracking apps have been improved. They will learn to analyze sleep and medical indicators. The company is creating a special tool that will remind users to take their pills. The course of their intake will be visible at a distance of several days or weeks.
  3. Update notifications. This was reported by Bloomberg. What kind of changes we will see is not reported.
  4. The accident detection function will appear. An analogue of the fall detection function in the Apple Watch. Using a gyroscope, the smartphone will detect the moment of impact and send data to the emergency service if the user is immobilized.
  5. New applications. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said the company is preparing a number of “fresh Apple apps,” but didn’t go into details. A complete redesign of the interface is not expected, while the company has planned “major changes to the system.”

  2. New notification design. Apple has made a lot of changes to iOS notifications over the past two years, adding features like notification grouping and focus modes.
