Google does not leave attempts to popularize the Nearby Share feature among users of Android devices. Nearby Share is an analog of AirDrop on Apple gadgets, the purpose of this feature is to simply exchange data between devices.

In the near future, data exchange will be simplified even further. The user will be able to transfer files between devices that are signed in to the same Google Account without confirming the transfer. AirDrop works in the same way – there is no need to confirm the sending or receiving of files using codes or anything else if the devices participating in the exchange use an account that belongs to the user. This simplifies the exchange of data and at the same time protects files from unauthorized access.

In the Nearby Share settings, you can specify that the device remains visible to nearby gadgets. Data transfer is carried out via a local wireless connection. With Nearby Share, you can transfer from one gadget to another photos and videos from the gallery, as well as files from any application that supports content export.

Most likely, an updated version of Nearby Share will be presented at the I / O conference this year. Innovations are already ready and added to Google Play Services, it remains only to activate them, and it is unlikely that Google will take much time.
