In 1980, he was elected as a member (academician) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Comrade Pan Jiluan has won many honors and awards, including the first prize of the National Technology Invention Award, the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Science and Technology Progress Award, the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society Science and Technology Achievement Award, the China Welding Society’s highest honor award, and the national level Teaching Achievement Award. He has been awarded as a special model worker in Beijing and twice awarded the National “May 1st” Labor Medal.
