Nothing is stopping the world’s largest iPhone assembly plant, not even the lockdowns and massive Covid-19 testing campaigns taking place all around it. While doubts had arisen last week on the production capacity of the Foxconn factory in Zhengzhou, nicknamed “iPhone City”, the local newspaper Henan Daily quickly lifted them.
Production by some 200,000 workers is going well, Foxconn officials said. “Supply chains have not been affected by Covid”they said could not be more clearly.
Over the past few weeks, many factories have had to halt operations in Shanghai and other parts of China due to the extremely strict sanitary measures decided due to the rebound of the epidemic.
