Serious changes await the work of the Kyivstar mobile operator in Ukraine. The government decided to nationalize the operator through links with the aggressor. The deputies have already submitted the corresponding draft to the Verkhovna Rada.
The National Security and Defense Council and the Cabinet of Ministers called for the seizure of the property of the occupiers and its residents. A document of enterprises with a list of owners, auctioneers and residents of the Russian Federation was presented. Among the list are such popular companies in Ukraine as Kyivstar, Mirgorodska, Morshinska, Alfa-Bank and others.
The connection of the operator with the aggressor is connected with the investment company LetterOne, which owns almost half of the shares of the owner of Kyivstar, the telecom group VEON. The shareholders of LetterOne are well-known Russian businessmen Petr Aven and Mikhail Fridman. With the outbreak of a full-scale war, businessmen left the supervisory board of LetterOne, but are still shareholders of the enterprise.
A solution to the problem is to resell the shares of the mobile operator. It is important that this does not become another attempt to circumvent the sanctions, and Ukrainian subscribers do not suffer from it.
