At the beginning of April 2022 she finally went online, the Roadmap for the new Lost Ark content, which should land on the live servers in the coming weeks. So we know exactly what to expect in Arkesia after the ID change on Thursday, April 21, 2022. For example, the new endgame continent of South Vern, with all the associated quests and challenges. But also the new martial artist class of the spear bearer.
Official preview of the Lancer
Exactly this spear bearer revolves around the fresh on the official website of Lost Ark published preview articles. In the following we have summarized the most important findings for you.
Stance change and dual display
The Lancer has two different skills to switch between: Focus and Storm. The shorter spear is used to unleash a furious bombardment in Focus Stance, while the longer glaive in Storm Stance allows for graceful killing blows and powerful attacks. In one stance you generate energy, which leads to an effective increase in value when you switch to the other stance. You can switch the weapon at any time by pressing the Z button and thus switch between focus and storm stance.

The Lancer’s dual gauge fills up over time and as you hit enemies with skills. You can fill up to three stages in this way. When you change stance, you convert the energy you collect into bonuses. The strength of the effect depends on how much you have filled the gauge. The bonuses are based on the stance you switch to.
Change from Storm to Focus:
- Level 1 of Dual Gauge grants +5% movement speed
- Level 2 of Dual Gauge brings +10% movement speed and +10% damage
- Level 3 of Dual Gauge grants +15% movement speed, +10% damage and +25% crit damage
Change from focus to storm:
- Level 1 of Dual Gauge grants +5% Attack Speed
- Level 2 of Dual Gauge brings +10% Attack Speed and +10% Damage
- Level 3 of the dual gauge brings +15% attack speed, +10% damage and +25% crit damage
The engravings of the spear bearer
Like all advanced classes in Lost Ark (buy now €19.99) The Lancer also has two class-specific engravings, each with their own playstyle.
- summit: The “Peak” engraving expands the Lancer’s stance shift, enhances the effect of level 3 of Dual Gauge, and grants powerful bonuses.
- control: With this engraving, you disable Focus Stance, but increase the damage of Storm skills by 18% at level 1, 27% at level 2, and 36% at level 3. This means you have fewer skills and can’t switch stances for bonuses, but you deal additional damage.
Lost Ark: The spear bearer is very agile and likes to pounce on opponents from the air.

Skills of the Lancer
The spear bearer has an enormous number of skills due to her two stances. Below we look at the powerful awakening skills.
- Yeon Spear Technique – Spear Meteor: Performs an attack at the target location. Leap back while facing ahead, focus energy on your spear, and throw it at the target area. The spear deals damage on impact and then explodes, dealing damage and knocking back enemies with the final hit.
- Yeon Spear Technique – Charge Red Dragon: Focus your mind and thrust your spear forward to deal damage. If you then pull it back, you will deal damage and pull enemies towards you. After that, swing your spear and deal 5x damage, followed by a series of thrusts that deal 8x damage. Move past enemies and deliver a final blow, dealing damage and knocking enemies back.

Feiton Power Pass details
A new Power Pass will be coming to Arkesia with the April update! All accounts automatically receive a Feiton power pass, which is comparable to the Vern Power Pass functions. Once you’ve completed the storyline on the continent of Feiton, you can use the power pass to bring another character to that point in the game. If you’ve already completed Feiton, you can immediately use the Power Pass on the new Lancer (or another character if Martial Artist isn’t your choice).
