Originally announced for release during 2022the next game published by the French of DONTNOD Gerda: A Flame in Winter which will put you in the shoes of Gerda, a young Danish woman who is upset by the occupation of her village, in the middle of World War II, the game will then ask you to make decisions for Gerda, to help her come and go and above all to choose in whom to place one’s trust in this RPG narrative of which DONTNOD has the secret.

Developed by PortaPlay, a Danish studio, this interactive adventure takes place today and promises to tell you a story as moving as it is inspired by real events in the history of Denmark. The developers and DONTNOD have just announced that Gerda: A Flame in Winter will come out on nintendo-switch from September 1.

When the snow stops falling, the small Danish village of Tinglev will never be the same. Walk in Gerda’s footsteps as her daily life is turned upside down by the occupation of her village in the middle of World War II. Choose where to go, how to act and who to trust in this intimate RPG-lite storytelling experience inspired by a true story. How far will you be willing to go to protect your loved ones?


PLAY AS AN UNEXPECTED HEROINE
Through a poignant story, you play as Gerda, a nurse who will have to arm herself with courage and determination when her life suddenly changes. A war story told, not on the front line, but in the intimate setting of the small Danish village where she lived all her life. Left to her own devices, Gerda will have to try everything to save her loved ones.

In times of war, every dilemma is a challenge and every decision can have dire consequences. Make your choices through a mix of exploration, dialogue and resource management. Every decision you make will be intimately tied to your personality traits in this unique RPG-lite narrative experience. True skills in the game, your relationships and how you interact with your surroundings will shape the narrative and influence the outcome of the story.
