April 20th is the release day of AMD’s new top CPU for gamers. With the Ryzen 7 5800X3D eight-core processor, AMD is only addressing gamers who value maximum performance. Despite a proud RRP, the demand for AMD’s CPU with – according to the PCGH test – the highest gaming efficiency and highest gaming performance should be high. Experience has shown that if you want to buy the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, you have to be quick when launching a new top CPU. We have put together the shops where you have the best chance of ordering the new gaming processor.
What distinguishes the Ryzen 7 5800X3D?
The new Ryzen 7 5800X3D eight-core processor uses the new 3D V-Cache. It is a die-on-die 3D stacking technology developed in cooperation with TSMC, which relies on TSV with 2 TB/s as the connection and “on the back” a 64 MiByte SRAM processor manufactured in 7 nm. Cache delivers – in addition to the existing on-die cache of the CCX with 32 MiByte. The CPU therefore has a whopping 96 MiByte L3 cache. As numerous CPU tests in the past have shown, additional L3 cache is rather a hindrance in applications with the same clock frequency, while the performance in games increases noticeably. The Ryzen 7 5800X3D comes with eight cores, 16 threads and a boost of up to 4.5 GHz (on one core). In the PCGH test, we were able to read an all-core boost of 4.45 GHz and a single-core boost of 4.55 GHz. The TDP is 105 watts, which means a maximum PPT (Package Power Tracking) of 142 watts. According to the PCGH test, AMD currently has the CPU with the highest gaming efficiency and the highest gaming performance in its portfolio with the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. If you want to buy a Ryzen 7 5800X3D right after today’s launch, you probably have to be quick, because demand is likely to be high.
When and where can the Ryzen 7 5800X3D be bought?
The release date of the new top CPU from AMD is certain. According to the manufacturer, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D can be bought from today. However, the time is unclear. Experience has shown that processor launches take place at 3 p.m. in this country. AMD has not yet named any dealers who are guaranteed to be able to order a Ryzen 7 5800X3D. But there are shops that were involved in CPU launches in the past. In our opinion, this is where the chances of AMD’s new processor are greatest. As soon as an offer for the new CPU pops up somewhere, we will update this article accordingly. Incidentally, the RRP for the 5800X3D is 489 euros.
