At the time, it seemed like the perfect phone that was in many ways superior to the iPhone, which was still authentic at the time. Rooting and tweaking was an interesting adventure, and the phones themselves offered top-of-the-line hardware and a minimal price tag. Against the backdrop of all this, other phones looked something strange. Especially the “masterpieces” of Samsung, which worked on the stupid and useless Tizen. It was just pain and it was hard to get rid of it.
These two manufacturers are now of great interest.

Over time, several more phones of this Chinese brand passed through my hands. We also talked about them on our website and filmed a video. But something happened last year. OnePlus went the wrong way, and Samsung, on the contrary, released an excellent generation of its flagships and very timely abandoned the Note line.

The next generation of One Plus
Let’s go back to the OnePlus 9 launch. The company was on an upward trajectory, finally bringing OxygenOS to a level where it had enough features to keep people happy. OnePlus then announced its partnership with Hasselblad, giving hope that the camera issues we’ve had to deal with will finally be fixed.
Many were ready to believe that OnePlus is going to start a fight with Samsung, as with the leader of the world of Android smartphones, which neither Huawei nor Xiaomi could overthrow. But the OnePlus 9 Pro’s camera was still its weakness. She was better than many expected, but it was difficult to call her ideal. And given that partnership with Hasselblad still in its infancy, the company certainly had room to grow.

The release of OxygenOS 12 on Android 12 according to most users was a failure. OnePlus has announced that it will essentially be taken over by OPPO, becoming someone’s second-tier brand. It didn’t say that directly, but it was clear.
The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro showed so much promise that users sincerely believed that the company’s next flagship would be even better and able to compete with the best of the best smartphones. There was room for growth, we all hoped that these growth opportunities would be used.
But then CES 2022 took place, where a new phone was presented, and according to the results of the presentation, everything was great, but in reality it didn’t work out so well. And the phone was launched gradually in different markets. At the same time, it never reached Russia. Much of the uneven startup issue can be attributed to the different software versions found in the Chinese variant (ColorOS) compared to the rest of the world (OxygenOS)
OnePlus is not sold in Russia
If you want the OnePlus 10 Pro anywhere other than China, you won’t be able to get the “better” version. Instead, you’ll be limited to 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage. Model with 12 GB RAM only available for China. It’s not very pleasant. Especially for users from those countries where the smartphone is officially sold, but not offered in the maximum version.
Such a version may appear in different regions and, according to various sources, should do this, but it is not clear when this happens, and users have to either wait, or buy what is, or choose another manufacturer.
The camera used to be a weak point of OnePlus, but now it has become better. Although, there is still room to grow.
So far, everything looks pretty sad for fans of the brand. They simply cannot understand what has become of the phones that they have come to love so much lately. Carl Pei left the company, trying to launch another brand to counter Apple.
