Chip demand for Chromebooks is declining rapidly, sources at Taiwan-based IC design firms said.
According to digitalimes, the source said,Chromebook orders from the education sector have been declining as the related needs are being met.
It is reported that factors such as global inflation and the Russian-Ukrainian war are affecting global notebook shipments. “While customers earlier this year forecasted a year-on-year increase in their 2022 shipments, they have been trimming their expected shipments over the past few months,” the source said.
Separately, sources pointed out that the blockades in Shanghai and Kunshan have severely disrupted the supply chain of notebook PCs in mainland China, and many market watchers are highly concerned about IC shipments.
