Later this year, Daimler Trucks Freightliner division will launch the fully electric truck eCascadia in North America. Now it is shown in production form and it is thus ready to meet customers after having been out and tested on the roads for 160,000 miles already.
eCascadia is available with three different battery packs – 194, 291 or 438 kWh. The average range should be 370 km. Packages that are 194 kWh must be able to be charged from 0-100 percent in between one and a half to three hours. The largest should take between two to six hours to fully charge. Some versions should also be able to fast charge up to 80 percent in 90 minutes. You can get the car with either an electric motor of 324 horses or with a twin that gives 477 horses.
It should be possible to reserve a copy now, but you will not receive the price until you have contacted Freightliner.

Freightliner produces self-driving trucks
Turn on the autopilot and start chilling
The Daimler-owned truck manufacturer Freightliner has developed an autonomous truck called the “Inspiration Truck”, which is the first self-driving truck to be approved to drive on American roads. The truck does not require any special infrastructure when it comes to the road network as it can read both road signs and traffic lights on its own. It is also not the idea that the truck should be completely driverless, at least not at first, and there will always be a driver available who will be able to monitor the systems and intervene if something goes wrong. They also showed a system to make driving more fuel efficient if several Inspiration Trucks drive in a caravan. Then these can be placed at a perfect distance one after the other and thus reduce the air resistance and thereby save on fuel. You can check out how it works in the clip below. Two Inspiration Trucks are already said to be rolling around on American roads, but when they will be bought or what they will cost, there is currently no information about.

The truck driver reviews his truck’s engine
Has a lot to say about it …
This is Orrin. His friend, who posted the video on Youtube, comments on him that “he has no chill” and you can safely say that. He has a lot to say about how Freightliner uses lousy things that break around his engine.

First trip in Sweden with a Mercedes electric truck
Went from Södertälje to Malmö
Mercedes’ electric truck eActros 300 has landed in Sweden and now the first long-distance driving with the car has been completed. The trip went from Södertälje to Malmö, which is a distance of 600 km. During the trip, two charging stops were needed and the car consumed a total of 450 kWh on the trip. There are two versions of the eActros – one with three batteries of 112 kWh each and a range of 300 km, and one with four batteries that go 400 km on a single charge. It was the former that they drove with here. The car was empty when you started, so first it had to be charged, which with 170 kW took around 90 minutes to 85 percent. While driving, the cruise control PPC was used, which was set at 82 km / h. They drove frugally and came down to 7.5 kWh / mile as best they could.
