As Justin O’Beirne pointed out, the update started rolling out quietly to users on April 15th. Apple Maps now shows cycling directions for Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, and Charleston.
As Apple describes it, the feature not only provides the best cycling routes, but also shows details like altitude and how busy the road is, as well as options to avoid hilly routes. Cycling directions on Apple Maps are already available in California, New York, Toronto, Vancouver, London, and mainland China.
“In the Maps app, users can get detailed cycling directions. Maps provides directions for bike-friendly roads (if available). Users can preview the elevation of the ride, check how busy the road is, and choose the best way to avoid mountains. The route of the mound. According to O’Beirne’s website, the feature was expanded to parts of the northeastern United States earlier this month. O’Beirne also believes that Texas and the Gulf Coast will be the next areas to get biking directions on Apple Maps.
With this latest update, Apple Maps now provides biking directions for nearly 26 percent of the U.S., covering nearly 52 percent of the country’s population.
