Gravity Industries has released a new clip showing how their jet suit is used to fly up the slightly over 900 meter right mountain Helvellyn in England.
The Gravity pilot covered a distance of just over three kilometers with an altitude difference of approximately 670 meters. According to Gravity, it would take walking lifeguards around 70 minutes to complete the same stretch. The flight took place even in conditions with poor visibility, which would have made it impossible to use a rescue helicopter if it had been an actual rescue operation. Gravity Industries themselves say:
“This is the latest in a series of Paramedic Response Exercises to prove capability in parallel with training up real Paramedics to provide first response Critical Care in hard to reach geographies. Cardiac, breathing or blood loss cases are time critical and require rapid stabilization to buy time for evacuation. This system, akin to the rapid response of a Paramedic on a motorbike in an urban environment, will be the difference between life and death for many critical cases. “
If you would like to test Gravity’s jet suit, you can do so at the company’s facility in the UK. There are two packages to choose from which cost 2800 and 8300 dollars respectively. You can also buy your own Gravity Jet Suite for around half a million dollars. However, the owner will only be able to fly this at Gravity’s own facility so far.
Below are some linked articles where Gravity Jet Suite is used both in the rescue service and in the military as well as for recreational purposes.
