the Ancient Dragon Darkforge Stones in Elden Ring are a special enhancement material.
Unlike the Ancient Dragonforge Stones, which upgrade normal weapons to +25 level, the Dark Dragonforge Stones are used to upgrade specific weapons. This is the end at +10. Furthermore, special weapons (usually those with proper names) cannot be upgraded.
There are eight of these stones to collect per playthrough, and here we show you where to find the Ancient Dragon Darkforge Stones.
Locations of Ancient Dragon Darkforge Stones in Elden Ring
Sacred Snowfield
1. As a reward for completing the quest for taking the Albinauric Archer Latenna from the Slumbering Wolf’s Hut in Liurnia to the Decaying Ruins of the Apostates in the Hallowed Snow Fields, pressing a button to summon and talking to her there.
2. Defeat the invading NPC Anastasia, Devourer of the Tainted when she invades your game for the third time. This happens on the frozen river south/slightly southwest of Ordina, City of Liturgies.
Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum
3. In a chest under the massive statue at the Place of Mercy “Dynasty Mausoleum – Middle” in the Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum – just before the boss fight against Mohg, the Prince of Blood, and next to the many Albinaurics. To get here, you must follow Varré’s quest.
Decaying Farum Azula
4. From the Place of Grace “Dragon Temple – Rooftop” in the Crumbling Farum Azula, follow the path south/southeast across the rooftops, past the falcons and toward the battered dragon that will shoot lightning at you. The stone is in the pavilion to the left of the dragon.
Elphael, Support of the Halig Tree
5. From the Place of Grace “Prayer Room” in Elphael, Support of the Halig Tree, follow the course of the area north to a point where you will find some Lightning Bolts on the railing on the right.
Jump over the railing onto the slope, continue onto the north platform, then onto the slope north of it. Follow the path to the left into the building and you will find the stone in a chest.
6. Same section as the sixth stone. Drop yourself at this point:
Run past the elevator, jump onto the bridge with the Earth Tree Avatar, follow it south and collect the stone from a corpse.
7. For this you must have completed Millicent’s quest and defeated Malenia. Then insert Millicent’s Gold Needle into the Scarlet Blossom remaining in Malenia’s Arena to get Miquella’s Needle and Forge Stone.
Ashen capital Leyndell
8. In the Ashen capital Leyndell you follow the path from the place of grace “Leyndell, Ashen capital” in a southwesterly direction. Run up the dead dragon’s wing, jump to the left to the ladder, climb up, then up the steps and on the right defeat the lonely gargoyle. He drops the stone.
