Netflix has announced that it will release both a mobile game and an animated TV series based on the card game Exploding Kittens.
The card game Exploding Kittens was released in 2015 by the gang behind the cartoon The Oatmeal. In short, the game involves players drawing cards from a deck of cards and avoiding drawing the card with the exploding kitten. The mobile game that Netflix is now releasing will work in much the same way, but will have some exclusive cards that are not available in other versions of the game.
About the upcoming animated TV series based on the game, Netflix writes:
“In the animated series, titled Exploding Kittens, the eternal conflict between Heaven and Hell reaches epic proportions when both God and the Devil are sent to Earth – in the bodies of chunky house cats.”
Netflix mobile game version of Exploding Kittens will be released for iOS and Android in May. However, we will have to wait for the TV series until next year. Below is a trailer from The Oatmeal where they describe in more detail how to play the card game Exploding Kittens.
