Apple today announced new online courses and certifications in support, deployment, and management of Apple devices to prepare employees for an in-demand career. According to a company press release this morning, the demand for skilled support and technical staff at the facility is growing, and in particular, jobs in computer and information systems are predicted to grow faster than the average for all occupations from 2020 to 2030. .

With that in mind, Apple is updating its training and certification for IT support and management. The training has been completely redesigned and transferred to an online format for self-study. Users can demonstrate their competence with two new exams and earn Apple certification.

“More people than ever use Macs, iPads and iPhones to get their work done, and the demand for Apple-certified IT professionals has never been greater,” said Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of corporate and educational marketing. “Apple Professional Training helps anyone with an interest in technology, whether they’re changing careers or improving their skills, get high-paying IT jobs with certifications that will stand out among potential employers. We believe deeply in technology inclusivity, which is why the new courses are self-paced and available for free, and we’re working to ensure that ability to pay doesn’t become a barrier to Apple certification.”

Two new Apple Professional Training courses are available today at training.apple.com. The Apple Device Support and Apple Deployment and Management courses are sequential; they help develop skills and concepts as the user progresses. At the completion of each course, new certification exams are available to demonstrate the competence achieved at each level, with the corresponding digital Apple badges.

Each exam costs $149, and the certification can be displayed on resumes, online profiles, and job boards, allowing users to stand out when looking for work.

Apple is also partnering with the Mac Admins Foundation to provide additional access to new Apple exams. Through Apple’s underwriting, the fund will offer vouchers to candidates with financial need. As a new 501(c)(3) organization, the Mac Admins Foundation’s two key principles are to be a welcoming and accessible organization for expanding the profession and maintaining accessible access to all community resources.
