New Jersey will get a new class of state troopers next year with the help of federal funding that will add more than 100 new police officers to the existing force of about 3,000 troopers, Gov. Phil Murphy announced on Monday. New classes of about 100 troopers are regularly added to the State Police each year. But officials said they don’t necessarily add to the total number of troopers.
