IT House May 17 news, according to onMSFT reports, multiple sources said that Microsoft is developing a new application that allows users to create custom live wallpapers for Windows 11/10 and Xbox. Aggiornamenti Lumia broke the news with specific pictures.

The new app is simply called Unnamed Project,Probably inspired by the popular Wallpaper Engine on Steam. If it does become available, Unnamed Project may address the lack of customization options for the Xbox dashboard.

Of course, the Xbox Series X|S consoles have a range of dynamic backgrounds to choose from, and an update released a few months ago added the ability to use the Microsoft Edge Xbox app to pull images from the internet and use them as custom dashboard backgrounds. But that’s clearly not enough for those looking for a more robust custom feature set for their Xbox console.

Unlike the aforementioned Wallpaper Engine, this new app may only be used by game developers, not Xbox consumers. While it would be nicer for users to be able to edit and customize specific wallpapers, the new app will still allow developers to bring exciting new wallpapers and backgrounds that might even show up as achievement awards and more.
