In a new video, Cloud Imperium Games shows new and revised features of Star Citizen. Among other things, work is being done on improved landing sequences, new caves and better driving physics.

Over the past few days, Cloud Imperium Games, the studio behind Star Citizen, has shared more insights into the development of the game. In addition to a live stream showing the creation of an outpost, the developers released a short introductory video showcasing some new features.

Lots of detail work

In recent weeks, for example, there have been further improvements to the game’s AI. Not only the landing sequences of NPCs have been improved, but also their behavior when walking around. Characters now have different running speeds and also improved pathfinding, where they no longer walk between two other people when they are talking.

There should also be further improvements for planets. According to the video, the developers are currently working on new cave systems and an underwater vegetation system. On top of that, the revised interior of the Corsair spaceship and new driving physics were shown, which should behave much more realistically. Finally, the developers also presented a new weapon in which apparently two continuous laser beams cause damage to other spaceships.

As usual, the developers emphasize in the video that the features shown are still a work in progress. Players will therefore have to be patient until they can try out the new functions for themselves. In addition, there may still be changes before then – and some of the functions shown may also be discarded altogether. As usual with Star Citizen, you should wait and see and not count on the features.
