President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is to appoint several new members to the Cabinet today. These will include several State Ministers who are to be promoted to Cabinet rank. Former Ministers Sarath Weerasekera and Dullas Alahapperuma have declined offers of ministries. Members of the Rajapaksa family will not be appointed to the Cabinet but Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa will continue in his post.
