The latest Lego set pays homage to Vincent Van Gogh.
A new model for his painting “The Starry Night” will soon let you recreate it at home.
The latest Ideas set
The Starry Night set is part of the Lego Ideas series and was created in collaboration with the Museum of Modern Art.
The painting from 1899 has been admired in New York for more than 80 decades; the Lego set for it is a three-dimensional model.
It consists of a total of 2,316 elements and is intended to reflect Van Gogh’s typical brushwork. Moon, Venus and stars are traced with halo effect.
More on the subject:
There is also a minifigure of the painter with a brush, palette and easel.
The set will be available first for VIP members from May 25, 2022 in the Online shop by lego. The model is 38 cm long, 28 cm wide and costs 169.99 euros.
Again, sales in Lego stores worldwide will begin on June 1, 2022, at the same time it will be available in the MoMA Design Store in New York.
A competition for creative people
On the occasion of the new set, Lego is also launching a creative competition. Fans can submit their own interpretation of the starry night sky as a miniature model. “The best designs will be displayed in the MoMA lobby in the summer,” it says.
You can participate from June 30th via this page or in selected Lego stores.
