Babylon’s Fall, the new game from Bayonetta developers, has been struggling with a devastating player decline just after its release.

The ailing Babylon’s Fall, Platinum Games’ new co-op action-RPG, continues to struggle just a month after its release. The game turned out to be a colossal flop just a few days after its release. This can now also be understood from the vanishingly small number of players.

Babylon’s Fall: Catastrophic player numbers shortly after release

As Eurogamer reported is loud Steam Charts The worldwide number of concurrent players for the new Babylon’s Fall dropped to just eight players on Wednesday April 13, 2022. But the previous high number of simultaneous players is also rather pitiful: This is just 1166 players. And over the past 30 days, the average player count has been just 137 concurrent players.

This news comes just a few weeks after Platinum Games had confirmedthat there are “no plans” for the development of Babylon’s Fall to go back despite the non-optimal release month. Co-developed by Square Enix and Platinum Games, Babylon’s Fall received only mediocre reviews. In addition, it also had difficulty in attracting players’ interest. Just two weeks after the release, Square Enix started a survey to offer all players an even better gaming experience.

The development team also confirmed that despite the issues, the content up to Season 2 is “virtually complete” and work on Season 3 has already begun. The user reviews of the game on Steam are meanwhile still quite modest: The long-term average rating is “balanced”, i.e. only 46 percent of the 231 reviews are positive. The short-term rating average is even “mostly negative”, with only 39 percent positive user reviews.
