WoW players discovered an exploit in patch 9.2 that allows them to equip more than two legendary items. The exploit requires some effort and has limited benefits for the affected characters, but they should be banned.
Legendary items in WoW are meant to be something very special. That’s why our characters in patch 9.2 can equip a maximum of two of them at the same time – actually, anyway. Because an exploit that apparently already existed on the PTR of the update allows players to create Legendaries in every suitable slot at once.
With seven Legendaries against the Jailer
We will not explain to you in detail here how the exploit works to prevent imitation. Just this much: The bug is apparently related to the legendary item Cord of Unity and the production of Legendaries at the Runecarver. Those who take advantage of the exploit can equip legendary items in all available legendary slots at the same time. However, their legendary effects are then inactive – only item levels and attributes remain. The use of the exploit is therefore limited.
Some players apparently took advantage of this exploit anyway. Corresponding screenshots and videos of two characters are currently circulating, one of which uses his new gear directly in the fight against the Jailer on Mythic+ difficulty. At this point, however, we refrain from linking corresponding threads in social media because the exploit is explained there.
Overall, we strongly assume that the WoW developers will soon be installing a hotfix on the WoW live servers to fix the bug with the Legendary slots. Players who took advantage of the exploit can almost certainly expect a ban. Under no circumstances should you try to equip more than two legendary items yourself via this bug. Because then you will almost certainly receive a penalty from the developers yourself.
