For a Dying Light 3, the lead game designer of the second part wishes for a stronger character right at the beginning.
Poland-based developer Techland is releasing a sequel to zombie survival game Dying Light in February, Dying Light 2 Stay Human.
Even before the release, the game was guaranteed to be supported with new content and improvements for 5 years.
And even if the second part is still at the beginning of its life cycle, you already think about what you could theoretically do differently in a third part.
Tymon Smektała, Lead Game Designer of Dying Light 2 Stay Human, wants a character in Dying Light 3 that is strong and powerful right from the start of the game.
“When we make Dying Light 3, I want the main character to start out with bigger and better skills and abilities. We have in [Dying Light 2] basically used the same approach as the first game where the player starts out pretty weak and then progresses.”
“We did something very different in part two and that’s something I’d like to have corrected, looking at Dying Light 2 from the perspective of three months after release. So I think in the third game, if it comes, the character will start with more powers, more skills, more abilities as base equipment.”
Would you rather start with a strong character where you already have powerful abilities at your disposal?
