In 2019, Apple will explore the possibility of allowing users to make purchases with the help of the digital assistant Siri. Not entirely different from how Amazon Alexa works, reports The Informationvia Macrumors.

However, the project will encounter patrol in part due to Apple’s strict rules on user data that prevent Siri from linking a person’s Apple ID with their voice requests. The team behind the project could not then find a good enough alternative solution to confirm users’ identities so purchases could be made.

Apple’s work team has previously encountered similar problems with Siri, Apple Card and the App Store. According to The Information’s report, the strict rules should come from the top of the company who are worried that employees will be able to see user data for the wrong reasons and that it will be accessible by hackers.
