ASUS continues to renew its range of laptops and it is the catalog of the ROG (Republic of Gamers) division that sees the arrival of two new products with the ROG STRIX Scar 17 SE and ROG FLOW X16.
The STRIX SCAR 17 SE represents without any context the most successful laptop PC on the market to date. ASUS has seen the big picture and is aiming for new heights of performance with an advertised maximum TDP of 65W for the CPU and a Max TGP of 175W.
The SCAR 17SE still offers a unibody aluminum chassis and inaugurates a new visual signature with new RGB patterns on the back.
There is a 17.3-inch IPS screen with a choice of Full HD 360Hz or QHD 240Hz. Everything is Adaptive Sync and Dolby Vision certified.
Internally, ASUS has chosen the powerful Intel Core i9 12950HX (16 cores at 5.26 GHz) associated with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GPU with 16 GB of dedicated GDDR6. It’s all paired with no less than 64GB of DDR5 and up to 4TB of RAID 0 SSD.
The ventilation system has been redesigned and relies on liquid metal technology as well as a specially developed vapor chamber with copper fins only 0.1 mm thick, all combined with new generation Arc Flow fans.
The technical data sheet of the SCAR 17 SE is comparable to the best in desktop, all installed in a transportable solution.
ROG FLOW X16 for its part inaugurates a new screen size in a range of highly popular powerful laptops.
The FLOW range aims to offer impressive power in an ultra-thin and versatile laptop PC.
This year, we see the X16 appear, which upgrades the laptop to a 16-inch Nebula HDR panel. It is a Mini LED DisplayHDR 1000 display boasting 1100 nites peak brightness with 512 local dimming zones and DCI-P3 color coverage.
The screen is arranged on a hinge which allows traditional use, in tent or tablet mode.
Internally, there is an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS processor associated with a GeForce RTX 3070 Ti GPU with 8 GB of dedicated GDDR6.
The Flow X16 is equipped with 64 GB of DDR5 RAM at 4800 MHz and up to 2 TB of SSD.
