THQ Nordic has presented a new project. The trailer shows a strategy RPG that has a historical setting.
With a gameplay trailer, the Austrian publisher presented a role-playing game with strategy elements. It’s called “The Valiant” and takes players back to the 13th century. In the Middle East you control a group of knights and live through an epic single-player campaign. Decisions must be made both on and off the battlefield.
Let’s go into the plot in more detail: The brother of the protagonist Theoderich von Akenburg wants to piece together an ancient relic. For this he embarks on a dangerous crusade through Europe and the Holy Land. Somewhere there the missing parts are hidden. If he succeeds, there will be drastic consequences for the world. For this reason, Aktenburg sets out to stop his brother.
Also includes co-op and PvP modes
In addition to the single player mode, there is also talk of a co-op mode and competitive multiplayer. If you choose cooperative action, you and two other players have to fight several waves of enemies. The actual campaign cannot be played together.
If you’re more into PvP action, expect something similar to Capture the Flag. Here you can choose between 1v1 or 2v2 battles, where you have to conquer control points and expand your forces. Winning a match unlocks visual rewards that can be used in any mode.
For fans of real-time strategy, the game aims several challenges. Before each battle, your own troops have to be assembled carefully and the members have to be suitably equipped.
Close combat is the focus of gameplay. Again, the structure of bases does not matter.
