A total of three different Silent Hill projects are said to be in development at studios around the world.

As VGC reported, it may be a remake, a sequel, and an episodic series.

Lots of news about Silent Hill

There were already rumors about the series over the weekend. Influencer NateTheHate and journalist Jeff Grubb stated that one of the projects is a remake of Silent Hill 2.

That in turn fits what VGC has heard from its own sources. Supposedly you can expect overhauls in AI, animations, puzzles and several new endings in the remake. There is also talk of a timed exclusive PlayStation release.

The Polish development studio Bloober Team (The Medium) is said to be responsible for the development. Over the past 18 months, the studio has been associated with Konami and Silent Hill numerous times. A strategic partnership with Konami was confirmed last year.

More in the works

Again, this should not be the only project with which Konami wants to revive the brand.

Another project is an episodic game with “short stories,” reports VGC. Sources have previously suggested Supermassive (Until Dawn) was linked to it, but the idea eventually evolved into the Dark Pictures games.

A new name mentioned by two sources is publisher Annapurna Interactive (Outer Wilds, Telling Lies). However, no further information is available.

Last but not least, Konami is planning a sequel to the Silent Hill series. It is still unclear who will take care of it. Earlier reports indicated that a Japanese studio was looking into it.

The most recently leaked images are said to be from a PT-style teaser game codenamed Sakura. Like PT, it is intended to be released for free.
