AMD has released a new version of its in-house overclocking tool Ryzen Master. The new software supports the Ryzen 7 5800X3D and the Ryzen Pro 5000WX Threadripper CPUs for the first time. In addition, both the manual and the automatic curve optimizer can now be used in the tool.

With the Ryzen Master, AMD offers powerful software to enable detailed configuration and overclocking of Ryzen processors. With the latest version of the program, which has the version number 2.9.0.2093, there is expanded CPU support and also some new functions.

More CPUs, more features

In line with the upcoming release of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, the updated Ryzen Master now also supports this CPU, even if the support is likely to relate mainly to the analysis functions of the tool given the deactivated overclocking in the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. At the same time, support for the Pro processors from the Ryzen 5000WX series has also been added.

With regard to new functions, AMD speaks of a newly added possibility to report errors and support for the Curve Optimizer. Specifically, the Ryzen Master should now be able to use the Curve Optimizer, which is already known from the UEFI, in a manual and in an automatic mode. With the voltage curve adjusted in this way, the efficiency and sometimes also the performance of the installed CPU can be increased.

To what extent the automatic curve optimizer of the Ryzen Master comes close to manual fine-tuning is not yet entirely clear. According to first reports from Computerbase However, the values determined by the Auto Curve Optimizer are obviously not always stable in all operating situations. If you use the automatic mode, you should therefore test the determined values for stability with the usual tools in order not to risk sudden system crashes.
