We are allowed to wait until 2023.
The sequel to the popular space simulator Kerbal Space Program have not had a particularly stable journey. In mid-2020, the publisher Private Division decided to move the development to a newly opened, internal studio, and in connection with that also tried to attract developers who worked with the game until then. Shortly afterwards, the game was delayed to “no earlier than 2022”, but unfortunately there will be no release in 2022.
In a video, creative director Nate Simpson says that Kerbal Space Program 2 will now come out early in 2023 to PC and to consoles sometime after that. He emphasizes that the game they are trying to create is incredibly complex and that they aim for a very high level of quality. At the same time, it must work on different types of hardware and in addition offer a universe that has interesting things to explore.
A look in the quarterly report for Take-Two, which owns Private Division, shows that the game will be released for PC during the financial year 2023, which ends March 31, 2023.
