By Chris Rosvoglou On Friday night, Los Angeles Angels manager Joe Maddon gave Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager the Barry Bonds treatment. With one out and the bases loaded in the bottom of the fourth inning, Maddon told Angels reliever Austin Warren to intentionally walk Seager. That would then allow Charlie Culberson to score from third. “I thought by walking Seager there, of course, just trying to stay out of a big blow,” Maddon said, via ESPN. “And also just to stir the group up, quite frankly. I walked out there and looked at [Warren]. I said, ‘How ’bout …’ and then he kind of said, ‘…
