Anyone remember ARMA 3 – Bohemia Interactive’s shooter military simulation? Well, it looks like the game will get a sequel, and not just for PC.
ARMA 3 has been around for almost ten years and now it looks like the changing of the guard is just around the corner. The military simulation, which is still loved by fans, is apparently getting a successor. Apparently it will be presented in a stream by Bohemia Interactive tomorrow Tuesday, but as is usual, some information is already available previously leaked.
Accordingly, the new game is not called ARMA 4, but ARMA Reforger and is based on Bohemia’s new enfusion engine. Given the new technology and the scale of the game, it is mentioned that not all content will be available at launch. Mention is also made of introducing the game to a new, console-oriented audience – so it seems like ARMA Reforger will not only be released for PC.
ARMA Reforger therefore also focuses on multiplayer. Longevity should be guaranteed, among other things, by a scenario editor and mod support. An alternative 1989 is named as the setting, where Americans and Soviets fight over the strategically important island of Everon. The island is said to cover a total of 52 km² and be located in the mid-Atlantic.
Other features appear to include three factions, six vehicles with a total of 18 variants, 15 weapons, two grenade types, and 13 dedicated combat roles. Once again it should be a “Military Simulation Game” with strong tactical elements. The game will apparently include in-game monetization, but there is no mention of DLCs or microtransactions.
The information appears to be accurate, as it appears to be a marketing document. If you want to be absolutely sure, mark tomorrow’s date Tuesday at 7 p.m on the calendar, namely the game should be streamed on the ARMA twitch page to be introduced.
