Electronic Arts and DICE remain committed to Battlefield 2042. As some players report, they were recently invited to a new survey. The developers wanted to collect feedback on possible new features for the ailing shooter. Among other things, “rental servers” and a portal editor were mentioned in the survey.
According to the last investor talk, Electronic Arts will not be giving up either the battered Battlefield 2042 or the shooter series. Under the leadership of Vince Zampella, head of Respawn Entertainment, work is to continue on the latest part of the Battlefield series. This is also indicated by a new official poll to which some players were recently invited. The developers want to collect important feedback on possible new features.
Poll of new ideas for Battlefield 2042
According to some players, there will be multiple versions of the new poll, not all of which contain the same questions. A few of the questions have already been shared and discussed in the community. Among other things, there was a question about a possible “rental program” for persistent Battlefield 2042 servers. The players have long wanted rental servers back, the developers have not wanted to commit to it so far. However, some users write that a possible return of such servers is now so late that it is unlikely that many players would come back for it.
Another question dealt with the portal mode. It was asked if players would be interested in a more comprehensive editor that could be used to customize map elements, for example. The developers describe this possibility as a “spatial editor”, with which flags or M-COMs could be moved or walls, boxes or even parts of the terrain could be moved.
