IT House News on April 15th, according to Windows Latest, Windows 11 is continuing to integrate the universal design language “WinUI” into the operating system and its native applications. Over the past few months, Microsoft has painted a new interface for default operating system applications such as Microsoft Paint, Notepad, and even Windows Media Player.
There are many excellent third-party video players for Windows, but Windows Media Player holds a special place in the hearts of users who grew up watching videos/movies in Microsoft Player. After launching Groove Music and the Movies & TV app that debuted with the Windows Metro UI, Microsoft is now trying to revive Media Player.
Media Player for Windows 11 replaces Groove Music with a new design built with WinUI and Fluent Design. It has some of the functionality of the old media player and has a smoother interface similar to the rest of the OS’s design.
The latest major update to modern Media Player updated the accent color system to support custom colors. With today’s update, Microsoft is now introducing a new album details view on Media Player’s artist page.
Just like the screenshots, it is now easy to switch between different views while browsing the collection. You can see shows from all albums in a grid view, and there’s another view that shows all songs grouped by album. The update also adds quick actions for albums, artists, videos, and playlists.
These quick actions show the user hovering over them for quick selection and playback.
Additionally, Microsoft is testing a new Video Enhancement Options dialog that will appear when playing a video in a media player. To try out the new enhancements, users need to right-click anywhere on the video and a new handy context menu will appear on the Now Playing screen.
A new context menu allows adjusting video brightness and contrast.
Like previous updates, the latest Media Player improves media player performance for users with large music libraries.
