Last year, Apple renewed Carpool Karaoke: The Series for a fifth season. The show was created before Apple even launched Apple TV+, so it was distributed through Apple Music. Season 5 is finally out this month, this time on Apple TV+.
Carpool Karaoke was originally created as part of The Late Late Show with James Corden. The comedian invites famous artists to sing along while he drives the car. In 2016, Apple and CBS reached an agreement to license Carpool Karaoke for a new Apple Music show. Despite being very similar, Carpool Karaoke: The Series does not have a permanent host.
Now it’s time for Apple Carpool Karaoke to return for its fifth season with new artists. In a trailer provided by the company, we can see the cast of The White Lotus, Saweetie & Anitta, The D’Amelio Family, Joanthan Scott & Zooey Deschanel, as well as All Elite Wrestling stars as some of the guests.
Although James Corden does not host Carpool Karaoke: The Series, he is one of the executive producers of all episodes.
Stars who share a car, sing along to their personal playlists, and go on adventures this season include Sima Liu and Jessica Henwick; White Lotus co-stars Murray Bartlett, Alexandra Daddario and Sidney Sweeney; Anitta and Sowity; Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott, who first met at Carpool Karaoke; Britt Baker, Christian Cage, Bryan Danielson, MJF, Will Hobbs, CM Punk and Ruby Soho of All Elite Wrestling; and Charlie, Dixie, Heidi and Mark D’Amelio. Additional episodes will debut later this year.
While Carpool Karaoke: The Series was already available on the Apple TV app, this is the first time Apple is touting the show as an Apple TV+ exclusive, meaning it will most likely no longer be available for free.
