The Chara Chorder Lite is said to be one of the fastest keyboards in the world, enabling more than 250 words per minute for experienced users and featuring the RGB lighting that is mandatory for gamers. Now the result of a Kickstarter campaign is ready and can be ordered. Read more about this below.
Kickstarter campaigns allow creatives to collect seed capital for new innovative products and to involve the community closely in the development. Some projects either do not reach their starting capital or are not fully developed, but some are positively received, well implemented and end in a success story. So did the Kickstarter campaign for the Chara Chorder Lite keyboard. The developers originally wanted to collect 10,000 US dollars for this in order to develop a keyboard on which several keys can be pressed at the same time and thus be able to type faster.

The goal was surpassed by more than a factor of ten at $105,893, and new intermediate goals of RGB lighting ($95,000) and Bluetooth connectivity ($115,000) were included. In the meantime, the keyboard can actually be purchased. The technology on which it is based should actually be used to compensate for the limited mobility of people with disabilities when typing on a QWERTY keyboard, but should also offer advantages for real fast typists.
While the developers assume an average of 40 words per minute on a normal QWERTY keyboard, the Chara Chorder Lite should be able to write up to 300 words per minute, although people can only record an average of 250 WPM when reading. The Chara Chorder Lite can be found on the Manufacturer’s website can currently be purchased at a discount for 200 US dollars and should have a delivery time of two to three months.
