Apple is testing iPhones equipped with USB-C instead of Lightning, reports Bloomberg.
The company does not plan to change the port until at least 2023. iPhone 14 will get Lightning. USB-C- may appear in the iPhone 15.
The key reason for the change is the European Union law, which will require all smartphone manufacturers to use USB-C. After its adoption, Apple may release a special version of the iPhone with USB-C for Europe or replace Lightning in iPhones worldwide.
Apple is also developing a Lightning to USB-C adapter to make accessories compatible with the old connector. [Bloomberg]
