Conservatives in the populous German state of North Rhine-Westphalia were slightly ahead of their Social Democrat (SPD) rivals in an opinion poll published on Friday, just two days before elections in the bellwether state. In the survey conducted by the YouGov pollsters, 31% of eligible voters said they would pick the Christian Democrat (CDU) party of state premier Hendrik Wüst.
