With the TUF Gaming TF120 ARGB, Asus releases a new case fan. A special feature is the double-layered LED array, which is intended to provide richer colors and more lighting effects.
In the future, Asus will serve the hardware market with new ARGB case fans in the form of the TUF Gaming TF120, which, as the name already suggests, measures 120 mm. The air coolers are advertised by the manufacturer primarily as efficient, powerful and with a low noise level.
The latter is given as 29 dB(A), with the fan working at speeds of 250 to 1,900 revolutions per minute. The background noise is suppressed, among other things, by the fluid dynamic bearing used, which also scores with higher performance and longer service life compared to conventional alternatives. Overall, Asus promises a lifespan of 250,000 hours. In addition, there are factory-fitted anti-vibration pads.
The data sheet states up to 76 CFM for the air flow rate, while the static pressure according to the manufacturer is 2.5 mmH20, which means that the TUF Gaming TF120 ARGB is also suitable in combination with heat sinks and radiators. The fan curve is controlled by PWM.
Since it is an ARGB fan, the lighting can also be individually adjusted. Asus advertises 16 LEDs in two layers, which are supposed to provide deeper color saturation. There are also additional lighting options ex works, which can be set via a separate ARGB hub. Said hub, which also supports Aura Sync, is included with every fan triple pack of the TUF Gaming TF120. However, it remains to be seen how the TUF Gaming TF120 ARGB will perform in practice. However, the maximum speed at full load means that the noise level should not be too low. Nevertheless, the case fan makes an acceptable impression, at least on paper.
In terms of price and availability, Asus quotes a unit price of 15.90 euros per fan. Optionally, the TUF Gaming TF120 ARGB You can also purchase them directly in a pack of three, which does not represent any direct savings compared to buying them individually at an RRP of EUR 49.90. However, the package is worthwhile if you also want to buy the ARGB hub. The case fan is available now. This is primarily advertised in black, but Asus also offers a version in white.
