The Starfield and Redfall games from Bethesda Game Studios and Arkane, which were expected to be launched later this year, have now been delayed until the first half of next year.
What would have been some of the biggest game titles to come from under Microsoft’s umbrella ahead of the Christmas season has now been delayed. It has now been confirmed that the launches of both Starfield and Redfall have been postponed and will no longer occur before the turn of the year.
It is Bethesda who via Twitter published a statement explaining that the games are now expected to be launched sometime during the first half of 2023.

According to the Twitter post, Bethesda Game Studios and Arkane have very ambitious visions for their upcoming games. The reason for the delays is that the developers need more time to launch “The best and most polished versions of the games”. However, this means that both games miss one of the most important sales periods of the year as they will not be launched just in time for Christmas.
The announcement concludes that in the near future they will share the first deep dives into what the games actually look like for players. Exactly when this may occur, however, remains to be seen. Right now we simply know that Arkane’s next big game Reddfall and Bethesda’s first new IP in decades Starfield will take a couple of months longer than expected.
