Shooter Redfall and sci-fi RPG Starfield were expected this year. Bethesda postpones the releases to the first half of 2023 to give itself time to refine the content.

This year, Bethesda was to launch its cooperative shooter red fall as well as his RPG of Science fiction Starfield (which was scheduled for release on November 11). In a note published on social networksthe group nevertheless announces a postponement of the release dates of these two emblematic titles, now set for the first half of 2023.

In its note, the group specifies that the “teams of Arkane Austin (Redfall) and Bethesda Game Studios (Starfield) have incredible ambitions for their games.” Consequently and quite classically in the event of a postponement, the studio intends to give itself the time to ensure that it delivers to players “the best, most refined versions”.

The announcement is probably not entirely a surprise insofar as both the form and the content of the two titles are still very nebulous – if Bethesda regularly communicates on the ambition or the scale of Starfield in particular, we do not haven’t seen a snippet of it yet gameplay and the very form of the game still needs to be clarified. Still in its note, the developer nevertheless salutes the communicative enthusiasm of the players (a “daily source of inspiration” for the development teams) and indicates that it is eager to share the first detailed previews of the gameplay of Redfall and Starfield.
