Criterion Games is a well-known studio for racing game enthusiasts. Former developers of the late license Burnoutwhose last opus Burnout Paradise was released in 2008, now working on the saga Need For Speed. And today, we learn that the company will now have a strong reinforcement.
Codemasters Cheshire joins Criterion Games!
While Electronics Arts acquired Codemasters last year, we had seen little change following this acquisition. One of the first of them has been made official today, with great news: the Codemasters Cheshire studio is joining Criterion Games
We can confirm Criterion Games and the development team at Codemasters Cheshire are officially coming together to create the future of @NeedforSpeedforming one Criterion studio with two location hubs. [1/3]

The two entities will now be one under the name Criterion Games, but each team will remain in their current location. Codemasters also tells us that this follows the partnership formed in recent months. The two studios now united will work on the future of the license Need For Speed, some details of which would have leaked from the side of Jeff Grubbs.
Good news for Criterion Games, Codemasters Cheshire and Need for Speedalthough long-time fans will be sad to still not hear about a new Burnout.
