Starting May 9, Android users from Russia will report the inability to update the Chrome browser and the Android System WebView system component, which is responsible for displaying web pages in third-party applications.
On Google Play, the update is displayed, but if you click the “Update” button, an error pops up:
On Apple smartphones and PCs, there is no update problem. From the publication “Kommersant” happened update the browser on a Nokia smartphone running Android 9, but not on smartphones running Android 10 and later.
Google has not commented on the situation. There are no restrictions on updating Google programs or just free applications. According to the new rules for developers, which Google published on May 5, paid applications for users from Russia cannot be downloaded and updated.
