While we thought we were in the home stretch for the release of souldiers, originally set for May 19, a communication from the publisher informs us of a slight postponement. Nothing catastrophic, since Dear Villagers only takes a few extra days to render a defect-free copy.

We then learn that the developers of Retro Forge Games still encounter some bugs and thatthey want everything to be perfect in order to satisfy players who have spent money on their title. It is in these words that Alberto Hernández, the creative director of the project, expresses himself in a press release:

We know how boring it is to have to wait any longer, but we promise everyone that the wait will be worth it. We’re a small team, and developing a game the size of souldiers at the time of a pandemic made us encounter obstacles that we had not anticipated. So we really appreciate your patience so we can fine tune souldiers and make it the sophisticated retro experience you all deserve.

Mix of Metroidvania, RPG and Soulslike, this tempting cocktail will have to wait until June 2, for the best it seems. If you are interested, you can go to the Microsoft Store to get it on Xbox as soon as it becomes available.
