Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes Apple will ditch its proprietary Lightning connector and switch to USB-C on all, or possibly nearly all, 2023 iPhone models.
Recall that the port appeared in smartphones starting with the iPhone 5. Since then, Cupertino has stubbornly maintained its commitment to its own development, although most manufacturers believe that most of the industry has switched to USB-C.
However, according to Kuo, this will not last long. Based on the supply chain, Apple will phase out Lightning in favor of USB-C in 2023. Kuo noted that USB-C will significantly improve the data transfer speed on the iPhone and speed up charging.
