A prequel to the upcoming Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes has been described as a thematic sequel to Suikoden, and whether it lives up to the classic series we will see in 2023. But already now you can take a first look at the game world, because a prequel by name Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising was released yesterday.

The launch trailer can be found above, and as you can see, this is not a tactical role-playing game, but a side-scrolling action and platform experience. In it, we get to get acquainted with some of the characters who will be involved Hundred Heroesand it looks like we’ll be able to import the savings file from Rising to Hundred Heroes to reflect some of our choices.

Because yes, there are actually some role-playing elements in Rising as well. Between all the platform jumping, you return to a village that you gradually help to rebuild, and where you also get different assignments. There are also weapons and other equipment to upgrade.

The game is out now on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, Game Pass, Nintendo Switch and PC.
