Screen recording on your Mac is useful for various scenarios. Handy third-party apps help with this, but Apple offers a free built-in option for macOS. Follow along for multiple ways to view recording on Mac.

Modern versions of macOS (Mojave and later) on Macs have a hidden screen recording app with more advanced controls such as a timer, the ability to save to a destination, show/hide the mouse pointer, remember last selection, control the microphone, and more. other.

Built-in macOS Tool

On your Mac keyboard, press command + shift + 5 (can be used while any application is running).
